What Makes Anvil K9 Different

Anvil K9 focuses on one thing: structured training that produces dogs you can confidently take anywhere. A few things that set the work apart from the average kennel program in Chattanooga.

NePoPo Gold methodology. Balanced training that uses motivation, clear markers, structured consequences, and release of pressure. The dog leaves understanding exactly what is expected, not just performing tricks for treats.

Real world training. Training happens in places that look like your life. Camp Jordan. Coolidge Park. Home Depot. Lowe’s. Bass Pro Shops. Tractor Supply. REI. Hobby Lobby. Sidewalks. Patios. Parking lots. Not a quiet kennel.

One trainer, one focus. Jake Mumford, NePoPo Gold Certified, AKC CGC Evaluator, veteran owned operator. You know exactly who is working with your dog the entire time.

Honest expectations. We tell you up front what training can and cannot fix. Aggression cases get an evaluation before we accept the dog. We would rather turn down a wrong fit than take your money and disappoint you.

Built Around Daily Training

Anvil K9 offers a 4 week program for dogs 16 weeks and older, and a 6 week program for puppies starting at 12 weeks. Both are built around daily, hands on training that develops reliable obedience and manners that hold up at home and in public.

What You Actually Get for the Investment

The 4 week program is $4,000. Your dog lives with a professional trainer, working every single day, in real world environments.

Two week board and train programs in the Chattanooga area run $2,900 to $3,500, and your dog comes home half trained. The math favors longer programs because behavior change takes daily repetition, not a quick fix.

4 Week Board and Train, $4,000

For dogs 16 weeks and older. Your dog stays with us and trains every day for 4 weeks, building reliable obedience and correcting problem behaviors. By the end, your dog responds on and off leash, in real environments, with distractions.

What it covers:

  • Foundational and advanced obedience commands
  • Calm behavior inside the home
  • Loose leash and structured off leash work
  • Behavior modification for reactivity, anxiety, and aggression
  • Confidence building and structured exposure to people, dogs, and environments
  • A handover session so you know exactly how to maintain the work

Best fit: dogs that do not listen, leash reactive dogs, jumpers, escape artists, and adults that need a full reset.

6 Week Puppy Board and Train, $6,000

For puppies starting at 12 weeks old. Six weeks during the most important development window of your puppy’s life. Done right, this is the difference between a calm adult dog and a dog you are managing for the next ten years.

What it covers:

  • Core obedience: sit, down, stay, come, place, heel
  • Crate training and house manners
  • Proper socialization with people, dogs, and new environments
  • Leash manners and impulse control
  • Real world exposure designed around your puppy’s developmental stage

Best fit: new puppies between 12 weeks and 5 months whose owners want to invest in the foundation now instead of fixing problems later.

Real before and after

Same dog. Different result.

After

We had a great experience with Jake's 6 week board and train program for our dog Tobi. He kept us updated with pictures and videos throughout, and the support did not end when training was over. You can tell Jake genuinely cares about the dogs and their families.

Real Lifetime Support, Not a Help Line

Every dog that finishes a program at Anvil K9 comes with lifetime support. If a behavior starts slipping, if you hit a new situation you do not know how to handle, if your dog stops responding the way they did when they came home, I will come meet you wherever the problem is happening. The dog park where the reactivity comes back. The friend’s house where they will not settle. The neighborhood where the leash pulling started again. Wherever.

That is not a video call. That is not a help line. That is me, on site, working through it with you. No time limit. No additional fee.

Anvil K9 works with dog owners throughout Chattanooga, Hixson, Red Bank, Signal Mountain, Ooltewah, Ringgold, Rossville, North Georgia, and Southeast Tennessee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Real answers to the questions Chattanooga dog owners ask before signing up. If yours is not here, call or text and we will tell you straight.

What is the difference between the 4 week and the 6 week program?

The 4 week program is for dogs 16 weeks and older. It covers reliable obedience, loose leash and structured off leash work, and behavior modification for issues like reactivity, jumping, escape behavior, and not listening.

The 6 week program is built for puppies starting at 12 weeks. It uses the most important development window in your puppy’s life for socialization, foundation obedience, crate and house manners, and impulse control. Adults choose the 4 week. Puppies choose the 6 week.

Will my dog forget everything once they come home?

This is the right question and the answer is no, as long as you do the handover. Every program ends with a handover session where I walk you through every command, every rule, and every cue in your home environment.

After that, you have lifetime on site support. If something starts slipping six months or two years from now, I come to wherever the problem is happening and we work through it. No additional fee. No time limit.

What does lifetime support actually mean?

On site, with you and your dog, wherever the problem is happening. The dog park where reactivity comes back. The friend’s house where they will not settle. The trail where the leash pulling started again.

Whatever the situation is, we meet there and work through it. No video calls. No help line. No additional fee. As many sessions as you need, for the life of the dog.

What if my dog has aggression issues or has bitten before?

Aggression cases get an evaluation before we accept the dog. Some are a great fit for a board and train, others are not. We will not take a case we cannot honestly help with.

Reach out for a free consultation and we will look at your specific situation. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you that and point you toward someone who can help.

How much does it cost and do you offer financing?

The 4 week program is $4,000 and the 6 week puppy program is $6,000. Typical 2 week board and train programs in the Chattanooga area run $2,900 to $3,500, which works out to a higher per week cost for a dog that leaves with half the work done.

Financing is available through Affirm. No hidden fees and no hard credit check to apply. You can check your rate at checkout in about 60 seconds without affecting your credit.

Where does my dog stay during the program?

Your dog stays with me, not in a kennel. Training happens in real environments throughout the Chattanooga area: Camp Jordan, Coolidge Park, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Bass Pro Shops, Tractor Supply, REI, Hobby Lobby, sidewalks, patios, parking lots.

The point is to build behavior that holds up where you actually live, not behavior that only works in a quiet kennel.

Can I visit my dog during the program?

We do not schedule mid program visits. Repeated reunions during a board and train slow down the work and confuse the dog about who their handler is.

You will get updates throughout the program, and you will see your dog again in your home for the handover session at the end. Most owners are surprised at how much progress the dog has made when they see them.

Is my dog too old to learn?

No. Older dogs train just fine. The cliche about old dogs is mostly wrong.

What changes with age is not the dog’s ability to learn but the depth of the habits we are working to replace. If your dog has been pulling on the leash for seven years, that pattern takes more repetition to overwrite than it would in a six month old. Both programs work on adult dogs. The 4 week is the right starting point for most adults.
