Board and Train Dog Training in Chattanooga, TN
Two Structured Programs Built for Real Results
Two Programs. Daily Training. Real Results.
Anvil K9 offers a 4 week program for dogs 16 weeks and older, and a 6 week program for puppies starting at 12 weeks. Both are built around daily, hands on training that develops reliable obedience and manners that hold up at home and in public.
What You Actually Get for the Investment
The 4 week program is $4,000. That works out to $1,000 per week for a dog living with a professional trainer, working every single day, in real world environments.
Two week board and train programs in the Chattanooga area run $2,900 to $3,500. That is $1,450 to $1,750 per week, and your dog comes home half trained. The math favors longer programs because behavior change takes daily repetition, not a quick fix.

Real Lifetime Support, Not a Help Line
Every dog that finishes a program at Anvil K9 comes with lifetime support. If a behavior starts slipping, if you hit a new situation you do not know how to handle, if your dog stops responding the way they did when they came home, I will come meet you wherever the problem is happening. The dog park where the reactivity comes back. The friend’s house where they will not settle. The neighborhood where the leash pulling started again. Wherever.
That is not a video call. That is not a help line. That is me, on site, working through it with you. No time limit. No additional fee.
Anvil K9 works with dog owners throughout Chattanooga, Hixson, Red Bank, Signal Mountain, Ooltewah, Ringgold, Rossville, North Georgia, and Southeast Tennessee.
4 Week Board and Train, $4,000
For dogs 16 weeks and older. Your dog stays with us and trains every day for 4 weeks, building reliable obedience and correcting problem behaviors. By the end, your dog responds on and off leash, in real environments, with distractions.
What it covers:
- Foundational and advanced obedience commands
- Calm behavior inside the home
- Loose leash and structured off leash work
- Behavior modification for reactivity, anxiety, and aggression
- Confidence building and structured exposure to people, dogs, and environments
- A handover session so you know exactly how to maintain the work
Best fit: dogs that do not listen, leash reactive dogs, jumpers, escape artists, and adults that need a full reset. Available with Affirm financing.
6 Week Puppy Board and Train, $6,000
For puppies starting at 12 weeks old. Six weeks during the most important development window of your puppy’s life. Done right, this is the difference between a calm adult dog and a dog you are managing for the next ten years.
What it covers:
- Core obedience: sit, down, stay, come, place, heel
- Crate training and house manners
- Proper socialization with people, dogs, and new environments
- Leash manners and impulse control
- Real world exposure designed around your puppy’s developmental stage
Best fit: new puppies between 12 weeks and 5 months whose owners want to invest in the foundation now instead of fixing problems later. Available with Affirm financing.

Why 4 Weeks, Not 2
Two weeks is the length of a vacation. It is not the length of a behavior change.
Here is what actually happens in a 2 week board and train. The first few days your dog is shutting down or amped up, depending on personality. They are in a new place with strangers, and their nervous system is sorting out whether to trust this or fight it. Almost no real training is happening yet. By day five they start responding to commands. By day ten they can sit, down, place, and heel in a quiet kennel. Day fourteen you pick them up and they look great when the trainer hands you the leash.
Three months later, half of it is gone. Your dog is pulling on the leash again. Jumping when guests come over. Ignoring the recall when there is something more interesting than you in front of them.
That is not the trainer’s fault. It is the timeline.
Weeks 3 and 4 are where your dog stops performing commands and starts living by them. The work moves out of the kennel and into the real world. Camp Jordan. Coolidge Park. Home Depot. Lowe’s. Bass Pro Shops. Tractor Supply. REI. Hobby Lobby. Sidewalks. Parking lots. Patios. Around other dogs. Around children. Around the kind of distractions that actually exist in your life. We run the obedience in the exact chaos where it falls apart for most dogs, and we keep running it until it stops falling apart.
That is the difference between a dog who knows the commands and a dog who lives by them. Habits built over four weeks do not crack in month three when life gets busy.
A dog sent home after two weeks looks trained. A dog sent home after four weeks is trained. The difference shows up the first time you really need it.

Calm and confident in the middle of an REI store. Real world training is what makes obedience hold up anywhere.
What Makes Anvil K9 Different
Anvil K9 focuses on one thing: structured training that produces dogs you can confidently take anywhere. A few things that set the work apart from the average kennel program in Chattanooga.
NePoPo Gold methodology. Balanced training that uses motivation, clear markers, structured consequences, and release of pressure. The dog leaves understanding exactly what is expected, not just performing tricks for treats.
Real world training. Training happens in places that look like your life. Camp Jordan. Coolidge Park. Home Depot. Lowe’s. Bass Pro Shops. Tractor Supply. REI. Hobby Lobby. Sidewalks. Patios. Parking lots. Not a quiet kennel.
One trainer, one focus. Jake Mumford, NePoPo Gold Certified, AKC CGC Evaluator, veteran owned operator. You know exactly who is working with your dog the entire time.
Honest expectations. We tell you up front what training can and cannot fix. Aggression cases get an evaluation before we accept the dog. We would rather turn down a wrong fit than take your money and disappoint you.
Lifetime support, on site. Most trainers send you home with a video and a phone number. If your dog is struggling six months from now, I will meet you wherever the problem is happening. No time limit. No additional fee.
These are the only programs we offer because they are what actually gets results. If you want a dog with reliable obedience and manners that hold up in the real world, this is how it gets done.
Spots are limited so each dog gets focused, daily training. Start with a free consultation by phone. Call or text (423) 290-7584 or fill out the form below. Financing available through Affirm with no hidden fees.
What Chattanooga Dog Owners Say
Frequently Asked Questions
How old does my dog need to be?
The 4 Week Board and Train accepts dogs 16 weeks (4 months) and older. The 6 Week Puppy Board and Train is built for puppies between 12 weeks and 5 months. Both programs are structured around the dog’s developmental stage so the work fits where they are.
What if my dog has behavioral issues?
Most dogs come to us with reactivity, leash aggression, jumping, pulling, or focus problems. Those are exactly the cases the program is built to address. For more serious aggression, we evaluate first and tell you honestly whether the program is the right fit. We would rather turn down a dog than take your money and disappoint you.
Do you provide updates during training?
Yes. Photos and videos throughout the program, so you see the work happening, not just the finished result. At graduation you get a handover session walking through every command, correction, and routine so you know exactly how to maintain it at home.
Will my dog be off-leash trained?
Yes. Off leash control is a core part of both programs. By the end, your dog responds to commands at distance, with distractions, in real environments. Camp Jordan, Coolidge Park, parking lots, sidewalks, around other dogs and children. Real obedience holds up everywhere or it does not hold up at all.
How long is the board and train program?
Two programs. The 4 Week Board and Train for dogs 16 weeks and older at $4,000. The 6 Week Puppy Board and Train for puppies starting at 12 weeks at $6,000. Both come with lifetime on site support and are available with Affirm financing. Spots are limited so each dog gets focused, daily training.
